Please keep in mind that students go outdoors for two 15 minute recesses and one 40 minute lunch break, unless there is a severe weather warning. The procedures in Policy 221, Extreme Weather, requires Catholic School Councils to determine the extreme cold temperature, with wind chill at the beginning of each school year. The Prince of Peace Catholic School Council has agreed upon –18C for this school year. In extremely cold conditions (-18 C or colder) indoor routines are followed. Please ensure your child(ren) arrive at school in the morning with appropriate winter clothing. It is always a good idea to layer, as they can remove clothing throughout the day if they get warm. It is recommended that students have an extra change of clothes including socks and gloves should they require them. Please remember that every student must have a pair of indoor shoes at school every day.
