During Lent, the Church prepares to celebrate the Paschal Mystery (the passion, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus). It also prepares to celebrate Baptism, for those who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil and for all the Church, whose members renew their baptismal promises at Easter. The three pillars of Lent—prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—offer ways to revisit our relationships with God, ourselves and our neighbours, and along with the sacrament of Reconciliation, enable us to become closer to Christ.
Lent calls us to a spiritual understanding of the events of salvation and a renewed effort to live a life reflecting redemption.
Special Board-Wide Mass – Thursday, March 24th
This Thursday, March 24, 2022, Prince of Peace will be joining the entire YCDSB community of faith to gather at 9:30 am to celebrate Mass in our “virtual chapels.” Our celebrant, Bishop Boissonneau will be conducting the mass from our Catholic Education Centre in Aurora.
A small choir, comprised of staff from various areas of the Board, as well as a couple of students from Cardinal Carter CHS, will offer the Music Ministry.
We look forward to this opportunity to be all united in the greatest and most perfect prayer of our faith.
